About Us
K’Boys Kare was founded by heart warrior brothers, Karver and Konner, in honor of Konner, who recently received a heart transplant in 2025 after staying in the hospital for 6 months and away from home for 9 months. Together, the boys have endured eight open-heart surgeries, fifteen heart catheterization procedures, countless doctor visits, and many long hospital stays.
Through their own experiences, Karver and Konner know what can brighten a child's day during the toughest times—whether it's a colorful light in a hospital room, a favorite stuffed animal, or a tasty snack. They’ve found joy in simple things like Donut Day, Pizza Night, Ice Cream Sundays, Popcorn Movie Nights, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, or surprise visits from local athletes.
Karver and Konner "Kare" deeply care about lifting the spirits of kids just like them. Their mission is to bring light, laughter, and a sense of hope to children facing heart challenges—helping them get through it all, one day at a time, with a smile on their face.

Karver was born in 2007 and was found to have a heart defect at 1 day old. Karver was born with a Bicuspid Aortic Valve with Aortic stenosis, mitral stenosis, and tricuspid regurgitation. Essentially, three of his four valves were not functioning correctly. Karver had open heart surgery at 3 years old, and the surgeon was able to operate on his valves. This was to give him some more years before valve replacement. We then traveled to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for his 2nd open heart surgery with the same surgeon repairing his 3 valves again. This surgery did not give him much more time, and his heart needed more intervention. Karver had his 3rd open heart surgery at age 15, and they replaced his aortic and mitral valve with mechanical valves. Due to these valves being mechanical, he has to be on Coumadin for the rest of his life. He takes Coumadin and gets his INR checked every 2 weeks. In between all Karver’s open heart surgeries, he had several heart catheterization surgeries. Karver endured a lot of heart arrhythmias, resulting in multiple cardiac ablations. Karver has been doing well with the 2 new valves and still gets a heart check-up every 6 months. Karver manages his medicines and is getting ready to start college in the fall.
Konner was born in 2008 at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. While in Utero, Konner was diagnosed with a heart defect. Konner had blood flow to only ½ of his heart and was found to have hypoplastic right heart with pulmonary atresia and tricuspid atresia. Meaning that he had ½ a heart and a single ventricle. No working pulmonary or tricuspid valve. Konner was safe in the mother’s womb but would need heart intervention the day he was born. Konner was immediately put on a ventilator and had open heart surgery at 10 days old. The surgeon did a BT shunt. He spent a couple of months in the hospital. He had a 2nd open heart surgery at 4 months old, and the surgeon did a Glenn shunt. He had his 3rd open heart surgery at 3 years old, and he had a Fontan shunt put in. As the years went by, Konner’s heart started to not keep up with his growing body. He had several heart catheterizations to help maintain heart function. He was hospitalized more and more for continued illness and fatigue. In late 2024, he was listed for a heart transplant, and waited for 168 days inpatient for his miracle heart. On June 24, 2025; Konner received a new heart and underwent a heart transplant. Five days later, he had to have his chest opened again to repair a line. His heart looks good and moved out of the hospital 6 months after moving into the hospital. Konner will have lifelong meds and appointments to keep the heart healthy!
